Las Cruces Hosts 28th Annual Veterans Day Parade

Las Cruces, NM – The City of Las Cruces is set to host the 28th annual Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 9, 2024, to honor military veterans. The event will begin with opening ceremonies at 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Las Cruces Avenue, followed by the parade starting at 11:00 a.m.

This year's theme is “Honoring Veteran First Responders.” The parade will commence at the corner of Main Street and Lohman Avenue, proceeding north on Main to City Hall, and then heading south on Water Street back to the staging area. During the opening ceremony, the Grand Marshals will receive medals, and a cannon will fire blanks to mark the start of the parade. Attendees with sensitive hearing are advised to prepare for the loud but safe noise.

Street closures will begin at 6:00 a.m. in the downtown area, particularly on Main Street and its surrounding streets. Parking options include the lot south of El Paso Electric, the Doña Ana County Judicial Complex, Thomas Branigan Library, City Hall, and various lots located on the east side of downtown between Main Street and Church Street.
