**New Mexico State Police Arrest Fugitive Wanted in El Paso Shooting**
**Santa Fe, NM** – The New Mexico State Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit (FAU) successfully apprehended Raul Chavez, 20, of Mesquite, New Mexico, following a request for assistance from the El Paso Police Department. Chavez was wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred in El Paso, Texas, on February 15, 2025.
According to reports from the New Mexico State Police, the Fugitive Apprehension Unit collaborated with the Special Operations Bureau to locate Chavez at his residence in Mesquite. He was arrested on February 18, 2025, without any complications. Chavez was later booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center based on a Texas arrest warrant.

Porter, was arrested by New Mexico State Police on April 10, 2026, on four counts of criminal sexual penetration, one count of criminal sexual contact and one count of selling or giving alcohol to a minor after a 19-year-old customer alleged sexual abuse at Porter House Ink and Tattoo, and investigators executed a search warrant at the shop before Porter was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center.
