NM State Police Launch Statewide Fitness Tests
New Mexico State Police will hold statewide physical training testing on March 8 and March 22, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The testing will take place in several locations across New Mexico.
In Santa Fe (District 1), the event will be held at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center, 3221 Rodeo Rd. In Las Vegas (District 2), testing is at West Las Vegas High School, 57 Moreno Street. In Roswell (District 3), it will be at Wool Bowl, 1500 N. Grand Ave. In Las Cruces (District 4), the location is Centennial High School, 1950 S. Sonoma Ranch Blvd.
For Albuquerque, there are two locations. On March 8 (District 5), testing is at Cibola High School, 1510 Ellison Dr NW. On March 22, testing will be held at Del Norte High School, 5323 Montgomery Blvd NE. In Grants (District 6), the event is at Rehoboth High School, 211 Tse Yaaniichii St in Gallup. In Española (District 7), testing is at Española High School, 1111 El Llano Rd. In Alamogordo (District 8), testing on March 8 is at Alamogordo High School, 103 Cuba Ave, with testing on March 22 to be held at Tularosa High School.
The tests are scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at noon on the respective dates.

Las Cruces Tattoo Artist Arrested on Sexual Abuse Charges
LAS CRUCES, N.M. — A 42-year-old tattoo artist, Billy J. Porter, was arrested by New Mexico State Police on April 10, 2026, on four counts of criminal sexual penetration, one count of criminal sexual contact and one count of selling or giving alcohol to a minor after a 19-year-old customer alleged sexual abuse at Porter House Ink and Tattoo, and investigators executed a search warrant at the shop before Porter was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center.
