On April 29, 2025, the Livingston County Sheriff's Office held a retirement ceremony for Deputy Jared Rene, marking his retirement after 20 years of service. Deputy Rene began his career in August 2004 with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office on a part-time basis. In 2009, he transferred to the Greece Police Department, where he served as a patrolman, field training officer, crime scene technician, and general topics instructor. In 2014, he was promoted to Sergeant and served as the Community Services Sergeant at the Greece Police Department.

In November 2023, Deputy Rene transferred to the Livingston County Sheriff's Office as a full-time deputy sheriff. Initially assigned to the day shift, he later joined the newly formed Community Policing Unit in 2024. His previous experience in community policing contributed to the development of various aspects of the unit, including the new Teen Cadet program.

The ceremony recognized Deputy Rene's service and dedication throughout his law enforcement career.
