NM Town Halls Tackle Climate and Renewable Energy

The New Mexico Solar Energy Association announced a series of town hall meetings where residents can express their views on climate issues and renewable energy to state legislators. The gatherings are organized in collaboration with the New Mexico Sierra Club.

On Monday, May 19, a town hall will be held in Las Vegas at New Mexico Highlands University from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The event will be hosted by Representative Anita Gonzales and will include appearances by Representative Joseph Sanchez and Senator Pete Campos.

A second town hall is scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, in Pecos. The meeting will take place in the Village Conference Room at 92 South Main Street from 6 to 7:30 p.m. It will be hosted by Representative Anita Gonzales, with Senator Elizabeth "Liz" Stefanics in attendance.

On Wednesday, May 28, another town hall is planned in Moriarty. The event will be held at the Civic Center, 202 Broadway, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., hosted by Representative Anita Gonzales again, with Senator Elizabeth "Liz" Stefanics joining.

In addition to these meetings, Las Cruces City is hosting a public workshop on climate action and cleaner energy. The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Las Cruces City Hall, located at 700 N. Main St. The workshop will focus on topics such as electrification to reduce climate pollution.

Residents are encouraged to attend these events to share their concerns about the climate crisis and to support the push for renewable and cleaner energy solutions.
