Beat the Heat Fiestas Energize New Mexico Communities

The Beat the Heat Fiestas will take place at several locations in New Mexico over the next few months. The events, organized by the New Mexico Solar Energy Association and Healthy Climate New Mexico, will feature heat safety demonstrations, advocacy information, food, and free items for families.

In Albuquerque, the Fiesta will be held on June 16 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Wells Park. Another event in Albuquerque is scheduled on June 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Battan Park.

In Las Cruces, the Fiesta will be on June 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mesilla Community Center.

Other locations include Gallup, where the event will be held on July 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at UNM Gallup, and Española, where activities will be conducted on July 7 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Española Farmers Market.
