Aurora Library Hosts Wildlife Can & Bottle Drive

Aurora Free Library in Aurora, New York reported a can and bottle drive on Monday, July 28th at 5 pm. The event supports Wildlife Rockstars, who will be making an appearance at the drive. The campaign also supports efforts to protect wildlife and the planet.

Individuals with extra bottles and cans are encouraged to drop them off at several locations:

• Bridges for Brain Injury, Inc., 5760 Duke of Gloucester Way, Farmington, NY 14425

• At the Wildlife Rockstar event during Easthaven Wildlife Wednesdays

• Can Kings, 505 West Main Street, Palmyra, NY 14522 (open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday—mention "Drop-off for Bridges")

Additional drop-off locations for Upstate Bottle Return include Albion, Greece, Avon, Brockport, Caledonia, Henrietta, Medina, Canandaigua, and Penfield.

The news release notes research from UNESCO indicating that by 2050, plastic may outweigh all fish in the sea due to the current presence of 50 to 75 trillion pieces of plastic and microplastics in the ocean.
