20 Fugitives Arrested in Coordinated New Mexico Operation
In February, New Mexico State Police’s South Zone Crime Suppression agents arrested 20 fugitives related to various serious offenses, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon, among other crimes.
On February 6, agents in collaboration with the Las Cruces Police Department, Texas Rangers, and the United States Marshal Service located and apprehended Jesse Antillon in Las Cruces. Antillon was wanted on murder charges.
On February 13, the Rio Rancho Police Department reached out to NMSP agents in Roswell for help locating Anthony Perea and Brianna Castillo, who had felony warrants for failing to appear. Using information provided by the Rio Rancho Police Department, NMSP and deputies from the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested Perea and Castillo in Vaughn, New Mexico without incident.
These coordinated efforts demonstrate the ongoing work of state and federal law enforcement agencies in apprehending fugitives and addressing violent crimes across New Mexico.
